HOTEL
Hotel Design in Dubai. When we studied the modern realities of the Arab world, we found that the demand for modern architecture and interior design is already very high. In designing this project, we aimed to blend the context and history of the location, merging minimalism, classic interior design techniques, and active colors to create a harmonious space that respects both tradition and modernity.
Working alongside the Italian company Sicilia Intarsi, we developed a unique decorative marquetry panel using different types of wood inlaid together. This panel acts as a transitional element between Italian classicism and modern minimalism. The main motif of the pattern was inspired by the impressions of our trip to Sicily, where we visited the workshop of Ricardo D'Antone, the owner of the company.
Building on this pattern, we also designed modular inlaid panels, which can be assembled like tiles. By rotating them in different directions, they create entirely new patterns. These panels can be both voluminous and flat, offering versatile design options. We incorporated these panels in the bed head wall of a hotel room, adding a touch of elegance and sophistication to the space.
Together with Sicilia Intarsi, we presented this innovative design at exhibitions in Paris, New York, and Dubai, showcasing a perfect balance of Italian craftsmanship and modern design principles.
